The dodge teams have known it was coming for two years... thats why Brandon Gaughn went ot Chevy with his team an them went to drive for another Chevy team. He was hardcore Dodge since he started the truck series...

most of the now availible funds are going ot the cup side... try and catch up with Toyota and the other Mfgrs... Dodge is way behind in the mix this year in NASCAR....

as long as the Drag teams are doing well.. and considerign the new "drag style" cars released.. i wouldn't expect them to go anywhere soon....

I think I heard Craftsman is pulling title rights sponsorship at the end of the year too.

Truck sales are WAY down accross the board ... fuel economy and all. I don't think it will greatly affect their NHRA program since it is all cars, they don't race trucks here anymore! :D

EDIT: (from wikipedia) On December 3rd, 2007, it was announced that at the conclusion of the 2008 season, Craftsman would no longer sponsor the series.[1] Craftsman has been the title sponsor since 1995, the year NASCAR founded the series.

I would think since they are going to be selling factory drag cars again, that it would make sense for them to stick around.

their sprint cup teams are having issues with the development of the new motor, with dodge being months behind on delivery of parts, etc., to the point of some of the team owners and drivers being openly critical about the delays.

Anyone know if any of the Mopar teams are having any of the same type issues?

No dodges made the 12 car cup chase. That's bad news for some teams.

Don't blame me, I'm a Plymouth lover.:D

In Allen Johnson's blog for the upcoming race in Carolina he mentions the delivery of parts, including blocks, has been better with the pieces now delivered in tolerance.

Regarding Dodge's participation in drag racing, Chrysler will need to see a positive (cash flow) return on investment or they'll pull their support of drag racing. Chrysler is privately owned now and like any locally owned business, can't afford to bleed much red ink. The days of public money supporting Chrysler's love of drag racing are over.
