Congrats to the YNot Racing team for the win today.

If my math is correct:

Whitely now leads Reichert 712-697.

Whitely has 1 divisional race to claim.
Reichert has 2 divisional races to claim.

If Whitely wins his 1 remaining divisional race, he can get a maximum total of 754 points.

If Reichert wins both of his remaining claimable races, he would have a maximum total of 792 points.

So, even though Whitely has the advantage for the moment, Reichert has math on his side.

Remaining divisional races:
Div. I- Atco, 10/3-5
Div. II- Atlanta, 10/3-5
Reynolds, 10/24-26
Div. III- none
Div. IV- 10/3-5- Gilliam, LA
17-19- Noble
Div. V- none
Div. VI- Eagle Point, OR
Div. VII- 11/6-9- Las Vegas.

It will be interesting to see which races these guys decide to attend.
Since the blown cars tend to do well at Vegas, I would guess Whitely would wait and take his shot there.

Since Reichert is pre-entered for Pomona, it will be interesting to see if he will go to 1 div. race, then go to Vegas for his final points race, OR if he goes to 2 div. races, then goes to Vegas to be a blocker for Whitely.

Either way, this is the most interesting race in NHRA this year.

Well... I'm cheering for (COLORADIAN from Grand Junction) Jimmah, Normy and the BLOW DRYER Contingent!!! Love to see a BLOWN ALCOHOL CAR win the Championship once again!!!
