Where's WJ?

Doesn't look like Warren made Q1, is he racing in Vegas?
I believe he skipped some of the west coast events last year. With no major backing he chose to only run Kurt's car. Vegas is a long way to go to have to turn around and go to Charlotte.

Well that's one way of looking at it... The other being he's a legend of the sport, a many time champion, and the winningest driver in Pro Stock history.

old man decided to hang it up one could only hope hes a prick anyways no wonder he doesn't get sponsorships

He is skipping this race, not hanging it up,he is not a prick, very successful driver, its great that he can still race,WHEN HE WANTS TO

Hows about posting a picture of your P/S car and the trophy case with 97 Wallys in it.

That's what I thought, you don't have them. Next time, put your brain in motion before you speak, you won't look near as bad.

Funny, WJ, KJ, and EES are the only three P/S drivers I give a dang about... Can't stand Edwards... deal with Jason & Greg because of Ken...

I guess you don't like Kalitta, Herbert, or Muldowney either?

Scott, Chet, & John ?like;) Okay, Conrad-Cool, Doug-Cool, Wicked Witch of NY-never have, never will... and yes, goes all the way back to the first time I spoke to her at OCIR in the early 70's, when she was driving Conrad's old mach-1.

I was working dragster staging at the points race in Bradenton in 1979 and she yelled at me because track mgt wanted pro qualifying held until dark. The next morning, she apologized.

Epping NH, 1996, Shirley made her 4.8-something pass and stopped on the track. The track workers went out to roll up her chutes and push her off the track and she went off on them to NOT touch her car until her crew got there.

Ouch!

She yelled at me working the top end at match race. Folks on the starting line sent some street cars down the track while the dragsters will still on. We were wrapping up her chutes when she put me in her crosshairs. Dark, I didn't have a radio to stop them. We weren't happy either. If someone hit her dragster they were gonna kill us first.

No apology, but sort of a polite remark after the fact about how much care we were taking not to tangle up the lines. I haven't lost any sleep over it.....

On topic.... WJ at another match race, after the fact. He had quite the personality. Very quick witted and fun to listen to. Four cars at that one. WJ, KJ, AJ, and a dude driving an old unmarked ex-GM Performance Parts Cutlass named Greg Anderson. All were beyond nice guys. WJ would have appeared stand off-ish at first glance. Big signs on his pit saying "no autographs til after the race". He held to that, but I don't think anyone who wanted an autograph missed out. He stayed at the ropes for hours.
