Tell 'Stick Boy" Belt to sit up in the seat. I NEVER had that much room between the injector and the top of the windshield in that car! ;)

Judging from where Scott is standing, I bet they are in Texas, seeing if Sean can see the tree early last year. :D

It is a cool shot/view though!

ha ha... ron you found my pic! some of the guys on ITA were having a discussion about visors and glasses fogging up... my question is who cares? i close my eyes anyway! like it would matter right?

actually that shot was taken at our first outing with me driving for the team (i'd driven my own car previously) and we were just walking the car in and out of the beam and waterbox (not under power) to see what i would/wouldn't be able to see... i just didn't want to wing it and have my first lap be a complete experiment. it was the season opener for the outlaw fuel altered association at denton (northstar dragway)

the problem:
until the car is up on the tire good i have a hard time picking out my groove

the solution:
before i roll toward the waterbox larry (who fires me, backs me, and stages me) runs out about as far as the tree and 'finds the middle' and holds his hand up. i aim the injector at his hand and as i head into the waterbox he hops over the wall. once i find the middle it's all a matter of reference

holy sh!t you're alive!! i haven't heard from ya in a while!!

and for the record i'm just a little fella... cut me some slack! :D

Just don't let a visor get covered with clutch dust from the inside! Maybe I'm wrong but, it looked like one of the helmet filters came loose. That or, the visor's fogging up that badly?

very very bad a$$ video man!! look for some really really kickin videos out of the nitro-madness team this season... i have a new on-board cam bringing the total to 3 different ones i can use for multiple views!

our sponsors and fans eat it up and it's fun to post online... i promise i'll share!

and no clutch dust here... we run a lenco-drive ;)

Sweet video!
What's that you are doing when you reach across your body with your left hand, just before going across the finish line?

Oh no! That's not me! That's someone who posted on insidetopalcohol about getting 41 runs and counting out of a Velasco crankshaft on 92% nitro. I just followed a link to his website, then a link to that video. I'll post the question to him over there and see what he says.

I do like watching how quickly the tree goes by when that car launches. I've always liked in car cameras that give you a driver's view as much as possible but, the placement of that one outside the car is pretty darned good.

Here's his website.

i'm gonna guess and say parachutes? i know once i make the gear change in the nitro-madness car i typically move my hand over and rest it on the chute levers and complete the run with one hand on the wheel one on the chutes (if it's on a really clean pass... but hey it's a fuel altered. what fun is that?) i usually push the chute lever down a 100-150+ feet from the finish line.

figure we're traveling 300+ feet/sec at the stripe... and it takes a second or so for the chute to exit the pack/catch some air/blossom/slow the car

also want to know as early as possible if there happens to be a chute failure (or god forbid dual) so i give myself and every available option to get it stopped in one (still shiney) piece

just a guess... may be something totally different on his set up?

that looks like the oxygen valve for the line to his helmet....his visor might have been fogging up and increased oxygen flow will help decrease that

minick... if you go pumping oxygen in the bosses helmet he's liable to light up like a roman candle!

but yeah... might be his helmet air too. mine is mounted near the seat edge as well only on the other side. preference thing really
