wondering what happens with TF fields of 10 and 11 respectfully for next two events.
the teams that do show will expect first round loser money at the very least, based on the present structure of pro racing.
logic says qualify 8 and run 3 rounds. wonder if phone calls will be made to get these fields to at least 13-14?

Just wondering, is this just speculation since Seattle is over a week away and Sonoma 2 weeks?

yes. re-read the last sentence in post.
there are 3 days left to commit to seattle, although i think if someone called nhra on monday and said they're making
the tow, i don't think nhra would

A whole lot of people would hate to see that happen especially the Nhra! Wonder when the last time was that fields were that short?

And Sonoma is on top of a IHRA race. StLouis also.

I doubt the big dogs would skip Sonoma unless they are wounded and need to return to Indy for major repairs, then I could see them going to IHRA event. But that's also getting the blessing of their sponsors.

I hope IHRA stays mainly lower tier nitro teams. And IHRA grows, there are many TF and FC that need a place. I’d like to see Bradenton IHRA again and get a National event. Baton Rouge and San Antonio also.

IMO the only thing that ties nhra nitro tour regulars to the nhra series, would be existing sponsor agreements.
IF ihra were to hang their shingle on a track like bradenton, and the 'pro' race in early february was suddenly an ihra event, and ihra
and whatever presenting sponsors put up $100k or more to win TF and FC, what would prevent the nhra touring regulars from attending?

just to get back on topic, i hope nhra can attract a few more TF'rs to seattle next weekend, and also sonoma, and even brainerd.

San Antonio strip was sold to folks with no interest in racing. I miss the big IHRA races there. Quite a few NHRA guys showed up for FC and TF. Saw Clay run his first 4.5 1/4 mile there.

Very unlikely especially out west. Unfortunately very few independent teams within 1500 miles to either. Ron August, Del Worsham, Rob Passey and Greg Carrillo have cars that I can think of. While I don’t know the cost to make the long row to either I would think between diesel fuel, hotels and flights to come out on the short end with first round money.

I drove by SA back in April. Stands still up, scoreboard stands up. A friend of mine I raced with built that track. Todd Zampise back in 99. Yes in 2006 some of the NHRA nitro cars did come. Race was run as 1/8 mile because of high winds.

Worsham, Cruz, Densham, the Smith's to name a few I recall. The year I rremember they ran 1/8th was due to having to repave one lane after a big oil down on Friday night. In 07 it was right after Eric's crash in Gainesville and the FC pits were sure looking close at their roll cages. I think we might have a better chance at getting a track at Austin, COTA. Lots of talk a few years ago.

applause to JCM who was running with schumacher last year in the distillery car, now comes back this year with ida.
i think she has added races that were not on her pre-season list, and adding at races that need it 👏
Maybe she runs IHRA?

i was thinking of seattle, sonoma, and brainerd. i would be surprised to see her/jcm @ future ihra race. jmho.
starting to think we may see the first 8 car fields in years in upcoming 3 races. TF and PSB. here's an idea that would actually make this race work.
take the 9th and 10th DNQ TF'rs and pair them with the 17th and 18th DNQ FC's. run em' off for a little side money, that would
be paid from the 11th thru 16th TF purse money that i'm guessing will not be paid to anyone.
call it the Not-2-Fast N' Tasty challenge.

Ida has been spending too much time in the booth and not enough time on the track. I believe it was planned that she would not run all of the races this season, but I'd much rather see her on track!

Especially when they're not 16 entered.

Question, if it's not a full field can you enter after the supposed cutoff time.
