Guys like Langley made it possible for the rest of us to participate or compete. Best wishes to Ruth and the rest of his family. Know that he was considered a great man by many of us. He will be missed by many.
I grew up in Lubbock, Texas and we went to Amarillo Dragway in the 60's and got to see Bobby Langley race all the time. Man those were the glory days of drag racing.
RIP Mr. Langley!
At least three of the 700 plus readers think Bobby was a star.rest in peace My Friend.I really hope Ruth and family really know how much we loved Bobby.
Amarillo Dragway used to have California vs Texas matches and Bobby Langley was one heck of a guy to watch race, always had a beard and was always nice to us kids.
I had just left town and didn't hear about Bobby going !
Jeez I got to see him twice this year as he was attending some shows where his recreated Dragsters were Shown !
I knew Bobby from Green Valley Days and worked with him at a local Aircraft Plant .
He got the famous 392 Chrysler Engine months before anyone else and had a leg up on the rest of them.
He was not rich nor sponsored so after the Aluminum Parts came out he could no longer afford to be competitive and quit racing !
I'm really sad to hear he is gone ! RIP Bobby Langley !
I still drive down that FM road where he ah tested his car ! With proper look out of course !
Well it was the old days you know !
