Let me preface this post by saying that I was born into a Red Sox Family.....

That being said.... I am sitting in my house waiting for the Race coverage to start on ESPN 2 and I am watching the PRE GAME ceremonies of "THE LAST GAME AT YANKEE'S STADIUM"...and the HISTORY OF WHAT IS GOING ON.....IS UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

The people on hand tonight, including a Man who was there on my baptisism in Oceanside, Ca, in 1973 (Mr. Chris Chamblis) and the history that that team represents is literally AWE INSPIRING!!!

My Hat's off to you Yankee's for building such a great Legacy of players and history for America's TRUE past time!

What was MLB thinking of not having Yankees play the Red Sox in the last game? Why they did not switch the last 2 series between the teams this year is beyond me. After what these two teams have been through it would have made sense. I went to the last game at the Boston Garden and they played it against the arch rivals the Montreal Canadiens. The reason the played them was that they opened the Garden against the Canadiens. The Yankee played the Sox in the first game at Yankee Stadium so why not close it with them as well?

I wondered the same thing. Instead the Yankees go to Fenway next weekend ... HUH?

I am very grateful that I got to see some games at Yankee Stadium.

What a place ... 3 Popes had mass there, many great boxing matches (Joe Louis vs. Max Shmelling!!!), the NY football Giants played most of their home games there between the Polo Grounds and the Meadowlands including the '58 NFL Championship game against Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts and 100 World Series games. Yankee Stadium was open 85 years and 37 of those years the World Series was there. Amazing.

I can`t believe I missed the Yankee Stadium pregame show that the Deuce had. I was watching football highlights instead . Great to see Pettitte get the win and for Rivera to pitch the ninth. I missed out on going to NY for the final season but we`ve already booked a twelve day trip to the Big Apple next June. They play the Nationals for three games when we`re there and we should be able to make Sunday eliminations at E-town too! Sad to see the Stadium go, but I can`t wait to go to the new ballpark. It looks incredible!

Got Rings? How `bout 26 of `em! LETS GO YANKEES!!

Maybe it worked out OK in the long run, if they had played the Red Sox they might not have won. it would suck to lose the last game in the House that Ruth Built. It truly was an amazing place.

I think I was too caught up watching every highlight of the `Phish destroying NE. No biggie, I`ve watched about every inning this year of Yankees baseball. They`ve been parading ex Yankees thru the booth all season.
