MACON, Ill. (June 11) -- JEGS.com racer Kenny Wallace will welcome a large group of fellow NASCAR stars to the racetrack he co-owns with Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader Thursday night for the U.S. Army Night of NASCAR Stars II.
Wallace is the defending champion of the charity race, which donates its proceeds to the charity of the winner's choice. ESPN and Speed TV will both cover the event at the one-fifth-mile, high-banked dirt oval on the outskirts of Decatur. The drivers will be piloting NASCAR Modified racecars.
"This is going to be a whole lot of fun, especially if I win again," Wallace said. "This is a great chance for fans to come out and see some of their favorite NASCAR drivers in a real family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We packed 'em in here last year and we're expecting an even larger crowd this time around. I can't wait.
"I'm proud to fly the JEGS colors again. We're getting the word out with all the circle track fans that JEGS is the only place to get high-performance parts."
Drivers scheduled to attend include Wallace, Stewart, Schrader, Kyle Busch, Rusty Wallace, Michael Waltrip, Bobby Labonte, Mike Wallace, Dave Blaney, Mike Bliss, David Reutimann, Ken Schrader, David Stremme, Marcos Ambrose, Michael McDowell, Buzzy Reutimann, Chrissy Wallace, and Steve Wallace.
Gates open at 3 p.m. with qualifying at 6:30 p.m.. Racing begins at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $25, while children 12 and under are $5.
