I would really like to see him get the monkey off of his back. Does anyone know if he has been to more finals without a win than anyone else? I met him in the stands a few years ago in Phoenix and he seemed like a really nice guy. Especially since he was on the trailer after running the second fastest e.t. of the first round. Unfortunately, Joe Amato was in the other lane running low e.t. He was very gracious and easy to talk with.

Bob is a very cool dude. I wish he could have pulled it off yesterday. The brown machine is doing great this year. I would not have guessed they would be strongly in th place at this point in the season... congrats to them.

No doubt, I was really pulling for "Bobbie V" as Mike Dunn called him to pull it off. The guy has more than paid his dues to get where he is, it's time for him to get some of the limelight.

I've always been impressed with his ability to land high-profile sponsors, he's definitely a win waiting to happen. I was at Indy, maybe in '94(?) when I believe he went to his first final.

Well, until the final they were getting the car down the track. Maybe that's a good sign for Denver. Let's hope so.

i remember brainerd one year with jerzees car against i think
cory mac in the McD's car?? in finals.
vandy was out on him, cory mac's car had front wheels up and going
higher but somehow drove through the wheelie setting front end down
very softly and drove past vandy for win. amazing run.
have to admit i was routing for vandy then, was yesterday too.

Did Vandy's chute come out on that run or was it another time?

Bob's chute came out early against Larry Dixon in the final of Indy in 95. This was Bob's first race with the Jerzee's sponsorship he qualified #2 and was leading Dixon in the final. I remember wanting Bob to win that race and being disappointed when the chute came out.
