(7/14/08) CAYUGA, ONTARIO – Mother Nature did not cooperate with the running of the Pro Modified Racing Association’s two events presented by Torco Racing Fuels Ontario at Cayuga Dragway earlier this season, and PMRA and Cayuga Dragway management has rescheduled these events for a two-day season-ending show to be filled with Pro Modified racing action.
Both the Third Annual Victoria Day Weekend - PMRA Challenge May 17 and 18, and the Fourth Annual KC Auto Parts Family Day PMRA Challenge presented by Paul Wolf Electric & Lighting Supply Inc., Osram Sylvania and Independent Electrical Distributors June 28 were rained out.
Qualifying for the May event was not completed, so this race will be rerun in its entirety. The qualifying for the June show was completed, and the eliminations will take place during this rescheduled event on Saturday.
The show is to take place Saturday and Sunday, September 13 -14.

“We had several options in rescheduling these events,” said PMRA Director of Operations Bruce Mehlenbacher. “After talking over possibilities with the teams, we came to the conclusion this new date was fair, not only for the teams, but to give our fans an opportunity to see the PMRA Pro Modifieds.”
Saturday of the two-day event will feature eliminations for the eight-car field that qualified June 28 and qualifying for the rained-out May event run in unison.
Round one action on Saturday will see the pairing of Mike Stawicki of Medina, New York, versus Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda New York; Ralph Andreacchi of Bolton, Ontario versus Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario; Terry Brown of Caledonia, Ontario versus Larry Sinke of Welland, Ontario; and Mark Nielson of Brantford, Ontario versus Sam Andreacchi of Toronto, Ontario.
Sunday will see the eight quickest teams return from Saturday’s qualifying for the championship eliminations.
The PMRA racing will be complimented by rounds in the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series and the Joe’s Transmission TNT 10.90 Super Series.
Race times for the weekend will be presented in the near future.
At present, last year’s PMRA Points Champion, Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario, leads the series. Boland was the inaugural PMRA winner at this track. Larry Sinke of Welland, Ontario is second in points at present, and third is last year’s winner at the track, Matt Guenther of Livonia, New York.
