COMMERCE, Ga. – Steve Torrence hopes his last race for Dexter Tuttle and the Capco Racing/Tuttle Motorsports Top Fuel team will be one to remember.
Torrence bows out at the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway, Friday through Sunday, after announcing his decision to move on last week
“We want to have a good time,” he said. “I hope we run well because I’d like to end this chapter of my racing career on a good note before my family starts the new TORRENCE Racing team.”
Torrence finished eighth in his first NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series action a year ago and is 10th in points now, but he expects to miss a number of races before the team hits the track.
“We would like to be ready in time to make the U.S. Nationals (at Indianapolis, Sept. 2-5), but that may be pushing it,” he said. “We'll just see where we're at when that time comes. We have a lot to do between now and then.”
