I just got this in my email....

STEVE TORRENCE NAMED NEW DRIVER OF THE VIS VIVA 'LIVING FORCE ENERGY' TOP FUEL DRAGSTER

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 11, 2008) -- Steve Torrence, NHRA's 2005 Top Alcohol
Dragster World Champion, has been named to replace Alan Bradshaw as the
driver of the Vis Viva "Living Force Energy" Top Fuel Dragster owned by
Dexter Tuttle. Torrence will begin his driving duties at the upcoming Lucas
Oil NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, N.J. on June 19-22. Torrence
previously drove for Tuttle as teammate to J.R. Todd for the final 3 events
of 2006. The 25 year old resident of Kilgore, Tex. is thrilled about his
return to Top Fuel and Tuttle Motorsports.

"I couldn't be more excited than I am right now," Torrence said. "Having
worked with Dexter in the past, I know the kind of team that he runs and I
can't wait to get back in his car. I'm also excited to be representing
Dexter's sponsor, Vis Viva Energy. They are a new and upcoming energy drink
and I'm a new and upcoming driver in Top Fuel, what a perfect fit."

Dan Pikarsky, Sr. VP Sports and Event Marketing at Attitude Drink Company,
Inc. shared his thoughts on the driver change.

"We are pleased with the job Alan has done for the Vis Viva brand while
driving for Tuttle Motorsports and we wish him well in his racing career
where ever it may take him," Pikarsky said. "We are also fired up to
continue our growth with our new driver Steve Torrence in such a fan
friendly environment like the NHRA. As our growth continues day by day we
know Steve will continue to compliment and grow with our brand Vis Viva
'Living Force Energy'. Steve is a bright, talented, well spoken, young man
who will represent Vis Viva well."

Tuttle is also optimistic about the change.

"Steve really is the perfect choice for this team," Tuttle said. "He has
driven for me before and I was pleased with what he did in the car. He is a
good kid and I'm looking forward to seeing what he will bring to our team."

When asked about the reason for the change?

"Every team has chemistry issues from time to time, and I guess it was just
our turn," Tuttle said. "No matter how good a crew member, tuner or driver
is individually, without synergy it is hard to be successful. We've been
lacking that."

Back in '05-'06 Torrence was one of the Rising stars of the sport, than he just dropped out of sight?

The car has been tossing the rods almost every run and the safety issue has been a topic since the Winternats...They even use double protection in the belly pan/diaper area to keep the oil off of the racing surface.

Dexter has a ton of cash (probably the most in the NHRA) and has no problem grenading engines for a win light..But if your the driver w/ safety in mind than that car might not be best suited for you.

Drivers are always repaceable (and are told that by some owners) and there are pilots who want their name in the spotlight @ whatever cost' and I have to respect Alan for his decision..

Well, Good luck to Steve-O!!! AND CONGRATS BRO! Great to see him get a shot at a good ride this year. Steve-O is a great young man, and he will represent Vis Viva and Tuttle Motorsports very well.

I thought Alan Bradshaw brought the sponsor to the team..??? Now I'm confused...?

That may be the case, but I will say this: I will NEVER buy Vis Viva or anything they manufacture or market if they are going to stand behind this bullsh--.

What kind of sponsor and team owner sticks with the guy throwing punches OVER A SAFETY REQUEST?!

In fact, I urge everyone to let Vis Viva know this is a crock. I know I will.

There is a man named John Medlen, he is very familiar with this type of incident as it hit him as close to home as it can, he should have a nice talk with Dexter Tuttle and his "crew chief" and see if their opinions or thoughts change. I gurantee you he'll never pull the "extra" padding out again. Im very mad about this entire incident and I know that Eric is watching down right now just shaking his head in disapointment. :(
