just once i'd like to read an article like this that goes something like this ..... 'i've never worked with any of these guys before. in fact, my ex-wife now
dates one of the guys i will be working with. i sure hope this works out. this team has been struggling, i guess we'll try not to blow too much stuff up' 😄

In 2004 a friend and I went to Phoenix for the national event. (1800 miles one way for us) My friend was a sportsman contestant so we were on the property a day or two before the general public. We were driving the golf cart through the pro pits one night and it was just the teams getting setup for the event and getting the cars ready. We saw a young crew member draining the frame rails on Jim Heads funny car. We stopped and talked to him for a few minutes. I am 99% certain that crew member was Mike Knudsen. Congratulations on being named CREW CHIEF of a professional nitro funny car team.

I'm guessing you meant Mike Knudsen? Or maybe Jim is Mike's brother ;)

yes, it was a typo. brain fart. thanks. lol

I had Jim on my brain because he was working on Jim Heads funny car.
 
13 time champ Alan Johnson will enter his 31st season as a nitro tuner in 25 and I feel like Tony would have fired him the 17 seasons that it did not work.

The article did not state that Dickie was fired, simply that there has been a Crew Chief change. This is the first media release, let's wait & see how the rest of the story unfolds.
