MADISON, IL – At the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Int'l Raceway in Madison, IL, Santa Rosa Beach, FL based racer Tim Tindle made his second quarter-final round appearance in the fourth event of the 2007 AMS Promod Challenge Series, presented by Tindle Enterprises.
Tindle, driver of the T.A.R.E. (Tindle-Ashley Racing Enterprises) GT 500 Promod Mustang, qualified for Sunday's 16-car Pomod eliminations in the No.9 spot, defeating teammate Rick Stivers first round. It was the best pass for the team all weekend (6.091, 236.51) and Stivers shook the tires, running a 6.336, 233.
In the quarterfinals, Tindle had the quicker elapsed time, but his opponent, Troy Critchley, had the advantage at the starting line.
"I hate that we had to loose this way, knowing that we had one of the best cars out there this weekend," Tindle said. "I went in that round thinking mainly about the foul reaction that I had in Houston earlier this year and it kind of threw me off. I am going to stick to my game plan at the next race and forget about the past. Mike Ashley gave a few words of encouragement after the round and it feels good to know that I have his support."
The AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge heads next to Bristol , TN for the NHRA O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals, May 18-20.
