CLERMONT, Ind. -- Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer Tim Tindle will like to improve in the 16-car Promod order Sunday during the 53rd annual U.S. Nationals. The GT 500E Mustang shook the tirese on its first run of the weekend and managed to run a 6.220, 233 during his second attemt.
"The car was agressive on the first pass and it didn't make it," Tindle said. "The good news is that we get a third chance to improve our position on Sunday before first round."
Entering the race, Tindle is fifth in the AMS Promod Challenge rankings, just three points behind fourth place racer Tony Pontieri. The U.S. Nationals marks the seventh race of the AMS Promod Challenge Series, presented by Tindle Enterprises. Tindle will have three more events to improve his points position.
Tindle, who won the ProCare RX Supernationals, Englishtown, NJ, is the only racer to defeat point's leader Joshua Hernandez in any 2007 AMS Promod Challenge event, presented by Tindle Enterprises.
Racing is scheduled to begin with qualifying at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 2. Eliminations begin with the first round at 5:10 p.m. Sunday evening and continue Monday, September 2 some time after 11 a.m. Same-day, round-by-round coverage is available on NHRA.com and DragRaceCentral.com, and daily notes and summaries will be available on NHRA.com, DragCoverage.com, CompetitionPlus.com and the series website, AMSProMods.com.
