PETERSBURG, Va – Tim Tindle raced his Chuck Ford powered GT 500 Mustang to the provisional No. 11 spot after two rounds of qualifying Saturday following a lengthy rain delay at Virginia Motorsports Park on Friday.
After a long afternoon of rain showers and power outages, NHRA officials were forced to cancel Friday's Qualifying for the AMS Promod Challenge, presented by Tindle Enterprises. However, Tindle, who enters the Richmond race ranked sixth, was able to make two laps on Saturday. The Santa Rosa Beach, FL racer was able to drive the construction themed Ford to a pass of 6.171 seconds at 231.95 mph. The run placed Tindle in the eleventh position.
"Well, we've got two runs in the book for the weekend," stated Tindle. The left lane wasn't the best lane during the first pass, but we were able to get this Chuck Ford powered Stang down the right lane during the second round of qualifying. Tomorrow's race will be no easy task, but we just need to focus on one round at a time."
TARE Racing would like to specially thank TEI (Tindle-Enteprises Inc), Mike Ashley's Gotham City Racing, MSD Ignition, Goodyear Tires, NGK Sparkplugs, Lucas Oil, and Huntsville Engine for their continuing support.
