It's an encore presentation, but I have to agree with Dave. Tim Richmond and Funny Cars would have been a perfect match.

Days of Thunder was released in 1990. Jeff Gordon's first NASACR Busch season was 1991 and he didn't start racing in Cup until 1993

I remember also reading that the crew chief in the movie, Harry Hogge, was based on Richmond's, Harry Hyde.

grand prix motorcycle guy......tim richmond could have been included in this video.
