Re: The General's Last Stand???

I've been curious where all the new talent will come from once Coil and Richards are gone.

That Alan Johnson guy seems to be pretty good.

Then there's that Venables character.

And Mr. Prock.

Oh, and Guido Anotonelli.

Kevin Poynter.

Tim Wilkerson.

Rahn Tobler.

Jimmy Walsh.

The Oberhofer's.

I could go on, but my point is that there's talent out there... Still, I'm going to miss The General.

Re: The General's Last Stand???

I'll be sorry to see him leave the sport, but he's certainly earned his retirement.

Still, usually they always come back for at least another season after they realize they're bored &%$@less with golf.

Wonder if Kim will take over the position????

Re: The General's Last Stand???

I would think Kim should be his successor since she is far from retirement age! ;) LOL

Re: The General's Last Stand???

now that is the "WOW" of the year so far. there just might be a shortage of the really good cc's next year. spose rob flynn has a front row seat for the job? that's worth a hmmmmmm!

Re: The General's Last Stand???

Heh... That's funny right there.

Although I am a little caught off guard with this, it is not 100% surprise.
Thanks for all the memories Tim.

Re: The General's Last Stand???

Tim and Kim have earned this. I was a fan of both once they joined the Etchells team after the unfortunate passing of Maynard Yingst (Chuck was my favorite FC driver at the time). I wish them both well in retirement and I thank them for everything they have done for KBR since they joined the team. I will never forget the 2001 and 2002 seasons, they came in when I was beginning to think Kenny would never win another championship. Thanks for the memories!

Re: The General's Last Stand???

Will be a good offseason for the tuners in the free agent market. Shoe and KB both need tuners for high profile rides. If you got the skills you are gonna get paid in big bills.

Re: The General's Last Stand???

Too bad this did not come about while Jimmy Walsh was still on the payroll :)

Re: The General's Last Stand???

It's a shame they are going away but I can understand why. They've both been doing this for a long time and this sport can wear you out. They have both accomplished a lot in Drag Racing and I think they will go down in history as two of the best Nitro tunners this sport has ever seen.

My best to Mr. & Mrs. General. (I think Etchells used to call them that)

Dave

Re: The General's Last Stand???

I wish them the best!

But........

It wouldn't surprise me to see one or both back in the mix in a coupla years......

Re: Farewell and thanks to Tim and Kim Richards

Lots of good racing with those two. Thanks Tim and Kim for all the memories. Hope you enjoy some time off.

Re: The General's Last Stand???

As much as I don't want to see Kim and Tim retire, they sure to deserve to stop and smell the roses.
I have to say Kim has always impressed me being able to wrench a car back when women weren't always a welcomed site in the pits..kudos kim :D
