Drag Racing Champions Autograph Session on April 2 with Don Schumacher Racing
LAS VEGAS (March 25, 2009) - The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower will host a special NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series autograph session featuring the highly-successful Don Schumacher Racing drivers on Thursday, April 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. DSR has chosen The Stratosphere to provide rooming accommodations for its drivers, sponsors and team members who are sure to enjoy the many restaurants and thrilling rooftop rides along with its expansive casino.
Signing autographs for fans will be six-time Top Fuel Champion Tony Schumacher, who drives the U.S. Army dragster; his teammate in the FRAM dragster, 2008 Vegas winner Cory McClenathan; NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car and points leader Ron Capps; the 2006 Las Vegas Funny Car champion Jack Beckman, who drives the Valvoline/MTS Dodge; and NHRA Rookie-of-the-Year frontrunner and pilot of the Shelor.com Funny Car, Matt Hagan.
The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series will be competing April 3-5 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The autograph session will take place in the Stratosphere’s casino. Ron Capps’ NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car will be on display in the casino from April 1 through April 5, 2009.
"This is a great opportunity for drag-racing fans in the Las Vegas area to meet champion drivers who think nothing of reaching speeds of over 300-mph in under five seconds on a 1000-foot drag strip," said Mike Lewis, Sr. Vice President of DSR. "It also provides a chance for people to get a good look at one of these outrageously powerful race cars on display and meet the drivers before they head out to The Strip for the weekend's event.
