Neither haters or lovers talk about this but in my view this is the one important thing about EVs-
They move the emissions away from the city. Even if the charge for your EV comes from a coal burning power plant, it is still a good thing because power plants are almost always far out of town.
Anyone who has spent time in LA knows how badly tailpipe emissions foul the air. For strict city driving EVs are the way to go.
The obstacle for EVs is energy density.
A battery pack weighs about a thousand pounds. A tank of gas weighs about 150 pounds. And the battery pack weighs 1000 pounds even when empty.
It will take a breakthrough in battery tech for EVs to be legit.
