I received an email the other day and sent it to a few people in the racing world. The guy who emailed says he is Jeff Gilley, 12 years old and has cancer and requested a signed picture from me. For some reason I got a little suspicious and decided to google this "kid's" name and what do you know others in racing and entertainment have received the same exact request. Once this guy gets a sign picture he turns around and sells it on ebay. Why he'd want mine I'll never know.

And what sucks is I regularly do benefits for kids with cancer and am putting together our winter show now for a homeless girl with terminal cancer and these kind bullsh!$ deals make it harder for us and others to ask for memorabilia from other racers who have already been burned.

There's good and bad in everything in the world, unfortunately, but you can't let the bad take away the good............

Thanks for the heads up, Rich. I get these requests from time to time as well. I'm always happy to send a picture. This makes me so mad that somebody would do this. If you want an autograph just ask for one, don't come up with some BS story. If you want to have some fun with this jag-off, get a Force (or somebody big) picture, forge his signature and send that to him. Let this clown try to sell a forged signature - that is sure to hurt his sales. Some people...

That's exactly it Dave. I'm always happy to send out signed pictures and even pay the postage. One time one of my pictures ended up on ebay and the seller was from Scranton PA. I was actually impressed. :D

I myself am an autograph collector and often times I am treated as if I am "too old" to be getting autograph's (I'm 23) and what some people will do when signing an autograph that they think I am just going to turn around and sell on Ebay (which I have never done) is sign it very sloppy... I suppose this helps thier piece of mind but it annoys me because I want a clean/neat signature to put on display. the best thing somebody can do if they don't want it sold on Ebay is personalize it...

while we are on the topic check out my collection, There's a few cool NHRA items in there.

I hope this link works... I have the album set to public
