Only got to see a few of these mammoth beasts run, the Allisons.

Saw Jim Lytle's 34 chopped Ford coupe.
Art Arfon's Green Monster
Tex Collins White truck.

I think they all ran the Supercharged Allison 1710 V-12. If I recall correctly these engines had a base horsepower of around 1040 and change.
All of these cars I saw ran at of course...you guessed it, Lions.

Saw the Tex Collins White truck at San Fernando. For those who don't know, "White" was the brand name of the truck & they were used mostly as 18 wheelers. Unless you decided to put an Allison airplane engine in it & run at the drags. Never ran real fast, but it was awesome to hear. Howlllllllll........
