Agreed, wonderful tribute to a champion who has not fallen, but has been raised to a higher level.

I know I'm just being super-sensitive right now but don't you think that NHRA could do a program upgrade to change the way the times are posted to the internet? To see "broke"...breaks my heart. Wouldn't it be better to say "withdrew" or "DNS". Just my 2 cents.

They did the same with the Top Fuel ladder.

Cheryl....I understand what you are saying but when you are a no-show that is what is written in their by-laws for publication of the competition ladders.

Policies and procedures cannot be altered for any reason-

I missed the show this morning and have not listened to the audio cast today.... What did Robert do? Did he idle down the track?

Brian. :)

Yes
Scott Kalitta's crew, along with crew members from the other three Kalitta teams, assembled in the left lane as Hight made his burnout and then slowly idled down the track to honor Scott. There probably wasn't a dry eye in the house, this reporter included. Godspeed, Scott, we will miss you.

I figured thats what he did. Thank you team Force!

Thanks Rich. :)

That was very classy of them. It was hard to watch without a few tears in the eyes.

Or at my house either. God speed Scott and prayers for the entire Kallita family of people behind the scenes.

What a tribute indeed! I was not expecting that at all, and up until then I had remained semi-calm...but when Robert left the line like that it really got to me....1st class all the way.

It must be very difficult for these guys to decide just how, or if they will, pay tribute to a fallen comrade such as Scott. Of everything I saw yesterday and today, Robert Hight's pass was the most commendable. It was much closer to the hearts of the entire JFR team, most appropriate, a sacrifice (obvious lane choice opportunity), impacted all who saw and it was very emotional. Again, I salute John Force Racing and especially Robert & Jimmy for giving such a fitting tribute.

I was choking up when the Kalitta Team walked up there but when the tree came down and Robert just sat there, I really lost it. I was hoping he would do something like that. A full out low ET run would have been very uncalled for. Very classy Robert and Team Force.
