Team Rage and Harold Martin Racing Announce Partnership: Martin to Drive Second ADRL National Guard Car

CHICAGO, IL (Feb. 11, 2008) — Team Rage announced today that it has formed a partnership with Harold Martin Racing to field the second National Guard car in ADRL competition. The long awaited announcement means that none other than Harold Martin will be the new driver of the National Guard’s Pro Nitrous entry in the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League (ADRL) presented by the National Guard. Martin, from New Hudson , Michigan , will race as a teammate to Joshua Hernandez, who drives the National Guard car for Team Rage in ADRL’s Pro Extreme class.

“When we decided to go outside of Team Rage in search of a second driver, Harold Martin was on a very short list of names that we compiled,” said Team Rage owner Dave Wood. “I am thrilled about this new partnership with Harold Martin Racing and confident that both Josh and Harold will contend for the 2008 ADRL world championships in their respective classes.”

“This is a great opportunity for me and my race team, as well as a true honor to represent the National Guard,” Martin stated. “Dave Wood is a first-class individual who has built a first-class racing operation. I’m looking forward to our partnership and to carrying the National Guard colors into an ADRL winner’s circle as early and often as possible this year.”

Martin is a multi-time national event winner with several number-one qualifying positions in his professional racing career and belongs to the ADRL’s exclusive “Three-Second Club,” reserved for drivers who have covered its 660-foot race distance (eighth mile) in less than four seconds.

Additionally, Martin is a former General Motors engineer whose efforts resulted in 10 world patents and led to the development of the first automotive computer control system. In 1996, he established Martin Technologies, an engineering services company that provides design, development, testing and assembly of engine programs, and Martin Motorsports, which designs and distributes leading-edge performance products and services to the motor racing industry. He also is highly sought after as a motivational speaker and has been profiled by several leading media outlets including CNN, ESPN, Speed TV, Ebony, On Wheels Magazine, GM News and USA Today, among others.

“We are excited about this partnership with Team Rage, Harold Martin Racing and the American Drag Racing League,” Sergeant Major Thomas Holley NGB (Recruiting & Retention) said. “These organizations bring the same hard work and team ethics to racing as do the 350,000 proud men and women of the Army National Guard.”

Known by racers and fans alike as the “EFI Wizard,” Martin will compete in the exciting ADRL Pro Nitrous class with a 2006 Grand Am built on a special racing chassis and powered by a unique 738-cubic-inch, electronic-fuel-injected and nitrous-oxide-boosted engine built in his own race shop. He will represent the National Guard at all nine scheduled ADRL national events this year.
