Team JEGS fun facts and noteworthy items March 12-18th

>>> The 38th annual ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals mark the four-year anniversary of the JEG'S Foundation Racing for Cancer Research program, which to date has raised more than $5 million for the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at the Ohio State University, and Ireland Cancer Center of University Hospitals Health System.

>>> Three-time world champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. will compete in both Pro Stock and Super Stock for the third consecutive national event. Jeg already picked up a C-Modified class trophy this season in Phoenix in his JEGS Mail Order Super Stock Chevrolet Cavalier and he's solidly in the top 10 in his Slammers Ultimate Milk Chevrolet Cobalt Pro Stock car.

>>> Jeg Coughlin Jr. raced to the Gatornationals finals four straight years from 2001-2004, winning the first race and taking runner-up honors the other three years. Jeg is the only Coughlin family member to score a victory at the sport's fourth longest-running national event.

>>> John Coughlin claimed his first victory of the young 2007 season when he drove his brand new JEGS.com entry to the Top Dragster title at the Southeast Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Orlando Speed World Dragway this past weekend. Coughlin, who made just a handful of test passes in the new racer before the start of the event is looking to make it two events in a row. He will be racing in Super Stock in his yellow and black JEGS.com Chevy Cobalt.

>>> Team JEGS Chef Nicky Morse has prepared meals for royalty, distinguished diplomats, and Ohio's ultra wealthy at the only four-star restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. He's cooked for country music's brightest stars as part of the support crew for CMT's "Showcase" program. He's mentored young apprentices at Ohio State University, and worked elbow-to-elbow with Wolfgang Puck to raise money for cancer research. Now the decorated chef is opening his personal cookbook to race fans by featuring one of his own creations each week of the 2007 POWERade Drag Racing Series. This week's creation is "Friday Pizza," and complete cooking instructions can be found free of charge at TeamJEGS.com.
