*******Testing to began Monday all force cars********Who needs those stinken rules anyway**********************************Will new champ have ***************************beside title****************.Just a small thought from 50 year draging racing fan!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

James the way I see it you should direct your anger at the group of people that have set up the way a championship can be won.. not Force, as they say "don't hate the player hate the game".
If the chase or whatever they call it was not implemented the Indy thing would not have happened and life would be so relaxed for some fans.
I did not chime in on any of the other threads but James you should not let this get you, life is too short and it will continue hopefully for both of us.

I'm not understanding the rant, James... John is waiving his points at P2 already by testing Monday, and doesn't Ash have a session or two left?

I'm a fan of the class (and 40+ years of the sport), and since Snake doesn't have a dog in the fight and Selzi's on the bench, I have nobody I root for more than others.... That being said, John and Co. are just using the cards that everyone has been dealt to the best of their advantage. Some teams can afford to run that way; some can't because their pockets aren't as deep. You have to appreciate John the businessman seeing the weakness in Glendora's armor and using it to his best interest, particularly for his sponsors- the ones that keep him doing this and a roof over his (and his children's) heads...
A smart drag racer??? Who woulda thunk it? :D

Now that's a well thought out..deep into the inner sanctums of a mind that doesn't have a lot to pull from.

Stinken Man.

The point is about the team testing several times past the five times is what I am mad about. The force team had to bend the rules to get Robert in the countdown.Last year nhra charged Don S. 100,000.00 for having fuel in his trailer. How much for to many test for force's team (0)?What about this does not add up the same. The fact is Force is nhra to some,so go ahead take your shoots.James :p:p:p:p:

Who is testing "several times" past the limit??

John Force asked before hand if Robert could drive John's car, and NHRA said yes. Roberts car was not run, and Jimmy was not even there, he was on his way home, or home already. NHRA told them they could before the car even ran. If NHRA had said no, it never would of happend.

Del Worsham was out of tests, and tested in Jeff Arends car, and got the same treatment. It was all OK. Seems nobody wants to talk about that.

Ashley has not tested all yeat except the end, Indy, Dallas, Virgina, now Vegas 2 which is her limit.

Robert/Jimmys car tested in Vegas 1, Bristol, Norwalk match race, and Indy.

Johns car is testing for the 5th time, and taking the penalty NHRA has in effect.

I am going to assume Don Shoe did not ask NHRA if he could bring his fuel in before NHRA found it or whatever happend. I really think that deal is a joke and the Shoe got hosed, but whatever. As long as it was not run in the cars (and I 100% don't think it was) who cares what he has in HIS trailer. Who knows maybe I am way off, but that's just me.

hahahahaha................:)
Hi Lynn testing went to about dark. The fuel cars that tested was Morgan Lucas - Tony shumacher - Bob Tasca - John Force - Ashley Force - Urs Urbacher put some one in his car for a licensing run and Cruz Pedregon tested a motor for nhra.

If you had been paying attention James, you would know that John played it exactly to the letter of the rules that were given to him and all the teams. JFR didn't do anything but ask the right question at the right time, and was in the best position to take advantage of an error by the rulemakers in Glendora. Pays to read ALL of the memos, dude...

Where did the testing rule ever say ANYTHING about a fine? It DID say you would get docked points for a race when you went over.

NHRA Mandates 2009 Testing Policy for Top Fuel and Funny Car Categories

How much you wanna bet that John has the baddest hot rod on the planet come Pomona 1, as he has had an opportunity to test the new piece on a a National Event prepped track, AND may do it again if he decides to run the '10 at P2, as opposed to relying on cold tracks that have sat for 2 winter months? He'll be in pocket before G'ville...If that .11 is any sign, you may be cryin' in your Wheaties a bunch next year.
And he's doing all under the letter of the rules- he's taking the points hit at P2- nowhere does it say it's supposed to cost him money.

As opposed to The Don/ Fuel issue- there absolutly is an edict about that in the rules, and Don had no wiggle room to miss getting kicked straight in the pocketbook.

Now, slowly put down the mason jar and back away from the keyboard....

See what happens when you mess with the old, who ever has the most points wins. The countdown added a lot of room for controversy, speculation and BS.
Under the normal point system, none of this would be an issue.

Thanks for stating the facts paul with no BS attached. Your post is refreshing.

Everybody is so quick to jump on the Force team. This to me is just smart business by one of the best racers of all time. John Force is where he is because of 14 championships. He is forfeiting the points at P2 to get ahead for next season. Why not? He has no chance at the title this year so it only makes sense to me to prepare for next season. That's like telling the stick and ball guys not to train in the off-season. People want to get on John for being smart and taking advantage of the "geniuses" in Glendora. I think it is just smart racing and excellent business.

I'm divided on the whole issue, so I'll just put some of my thoughts down, you can take it from there.

I have 4 cars stacked in one trailer and I want every one of them to win, but you there's 1 winner and at least 100 losers in each one of our classes.

I understand why he dived, business wise the championship is more $ than a race, and there are no prizes or moral victories right?

This has become a nitro powered chess game where sacrificing a pawn to move a knight is becoming more prevalant. In this case, I think the fans were the pawns because the Force team lost a lot of fans.

What's the Don Prudhome commercial? If winning doesn't matter to you, it's time to quit.

You can blame the NHRA for making it so, you can blame team Force for doing it, you can blame the people who are disappointed with both sides, but you are going to waste a lot of energy doing so.

Peace out!

Oh, and Happy Birthday Cheryl! :)

Tony

Under the normal point system, Robert would already have a championship under his belt. So the new system has taketh away, and now giveth.
Other than that, just remember we all live in glass houses - some just happen to be closer to the camera.
