Wonder where this will lead. :D

Also, in Q3 the Arana crew members came out dressed in peasant outfits. When asked what was up with that they replied that the Harleys have superior equipment so they must work extra hard like peasants to compete!

Pretty funny stuff.

At least they have a sense of humor about it.....

Betcha the Harley's are gonna gain a few more pounds, real soon!

Not likely, most runs the Arana's are running with the Harley team. You will see what the Harley team really has when the Countdown starts. Last year everyone thought the Harley's were sandbagging also and when the Countdown started Hector Jr was running with Eddie. The NHRA will be hard pressed to make a rules change during the championship race.

Krawiec, responding to the Arana's sand business:

"When we got to the local hardware store to pick up some sand they said someone else already got it all."

The Arana team may be running with the Harleys, all right, but when Krawiec puts .05 and nearly 4MPH on the rest of the field (Sonoma qualifying), people are gonna start talking.

The Harleys are the best thing the Arana's could ask for-otherwise there might be accusations of them cheating- since they are usually .05 + 4mph quicker than the rest of the Buells.;)

You know NHRA wont do the right thing when it comes to weight and motors for the harleys, but can't we end the sandbaggin crap once and for all. They are EFI, they should have a computer. NHRA should monitor those computer for only 2 races and make an analysis. Well then everyone will say their tuning crappy when the NHRA is watching the computers. For this team, the crap is never gonna end. There are only 2 possible outcomes:

1. NHRA needs to allow the new suzuki motor and add/sub weight to the harley's based on what happens.

An even better solution:

2. Make the harley's go back to the 2 valve pushrod motor.

In round 1 it was pretty damn close. Stoffer with an .82, Hector's .81 & .80, and the HD team .79 & .78. When you have different brands it is real difficult to get them that close.

thats the closest they been all weekend as a class. I like the Harley teams, but I wish it was more balanced and not so lopsided with the rules. Some people wont be happy until they both go out in round 1 or DNQ and that's not gonna happen.

One year, with Capps pulling away with the championship, NHRA changed the "oil down rule" to include a loss of 10 points. He supposedly dumped oil at Reading and got penalized the 10 points.....I believe they lost the championship by under 10 points.

NHRA added the "little points" for qualifying, as the countdown started...

Schumacher is told to shutoff by the starter on a run they needed to make for the title....they ignored Stewart and made the run...NHRA should have thrown it out, or bounced them for violating a safety rule. But they just fine DSR 20k.

So NHRA has a track record of making rules adjustments on the fly and even during the playoffs.

The difference is that the oil down rule and the qualifying points effected all teams. The NHRA will not add weight during the Countdown that would effect only 2 bikes and slow them down and cost them the championship.

Easy, allow more teams to run Harleys! Then it wouldnt only effect 2 teams.

Just a curious question here, but what I want to know is this....

Why can't other teams buy and race a V-rod? Is it because V-H refuses to let other competitors have one, or is V-H told by Harley-Davision they can't give them to other teams?

Chicken...meet Egg.
At the end of the day, it doesn't make a difference which. The truth in it all is, the two quickest teams are the two most tested. Unfortunately for the Harley's, the politics will supersede how well run and prepared the team is. They are the best team in PSB, regardless of who can buy what.
