Was looking at Rd 1 Q. Last pair were Duane Shields A/FD and Shawn Cowie blown alky. Shields #1 at 5.246 - 274.78. Cowie #2 at 5.250 - 275.62. OK what was interesting to me about these runs was the 1/8 mile times. Shields 3.499 - 227.19 and Cowie 3.479 - 220.26. So Cowie slightly quicker by .02 but he was 7 MPH slower than Shields. Shields picked up 47 MPH on the back half while Cowie ran a tad over 55 MPH in the back half. I thought it was impressive Cowie picked up that much. Man that thing must be pulling really hard from the 1/8 mile on. This was with a temp of 80 degrees, track temp 99 degrees. I wanna see Cowie run a 5.11, just to one-up Joey (who is also there). Or better, Joey run a 5.10.....

Interesting that 4 injected nitro and 4 blown alky qualified. After rd 1, all the A/FD were gone. That was a surprise. And now it will end up joey Vs Shawn for the final. I will be glued to the computer screen for that one!

Shawn wins in a wild race. Shawn on 7 cyls at the start & Joey is pulling away. BLAM goes Joey's blower & Shawn runs 5.43 271.19 for the win. What could have been - Joey has a .888 60 ft time. .888....... wow
