"Summer Nationals" name....

Now that the E-Town race has been held in June for a few years now, I think the NHRA needs to give the race it's proper name back and take it away from Topeka.

"Summer Nationals" just sounds better when a race is held in June.

I agree, whenever I hear "Summernationals", I immediately think of Englishtown. It's always been that way.

If I received an ad or promotional flyer from a retailer advertising an "Summer sale" 4 weeks before summer,
I`d think someone in marketing wasnt too bright.
BTW, why did Englishtown lose the Summernats moniker?

1993 it moved from july to may, 2000 it was the spring supernationals although it was finished in september.

The Spring Nationals was in Columbus around the 1st wk end of June.
And the Summer Nationals at E-Town was in early July.

I totally agree Sam. Summer doesn't technically start until June. We typically think of Summer beginning on Memorial Day weekend. I suggest going back to the "Heartland Nationals" name for the Topeka event. That fit perfectly.

no that was houston, they were the Fram Supernationals in the late 80s early 90s.

1997-2000 Supernationals were at Houston's fall race. I had to look at my event pins to see.

1997-2000 Supernationals were at Houston's fall race. I had to look at my event pins to see.

Glad I'm not the only one who collects event pins on here. How many you up to? I had a guy offer me 30 bucks for the 1987 Summernationals pin I had. I quickly and steadfastly turned it down.

I gave up trying to keep track, I just refer to the race as whereever it is at rather than the X nationals.
