Step 1:
Mix cream cheese and whipped topping together until well blended. Add confectioners sugar to taste and a few drops of mild if needed to smooth.
In the baking dish place a layer of the sliced cake then top wiht half of the whipped topping mixture. Add another layer of cake and top with remainder of the whipped topping mixture. Set aside and complete Step 2.
Step 2:
Mix sugar, cornstarch, and water into a medium saucepan and cook over low heat while stirring until thick and clear.
Remove from heat.
Mix in Jello and strawberries.
Pour over assembled cake and refrigerate.
