Stevens Dusts Off The Funny Car During W S I D Corporate Day

Thursday, 7 September 2006 - (Sydney, NSW) He was a noted absentee during the epic-running of the ACDelco East Coast Nationals, however Brett Stevens made a return to the track out of race mode last Tuesday, as part of a Brett Stevens Racing corporate day at the world-class Western Sydney venue.

"It was a great day. We had over 200 corporate guests here and plenty of yarns were told and a lot of good times were to be had too, which is exactly what we all needed," replied Stevens.

In fact, more than 75 guests were escorted for a passenger ride on the WILD side in one of FOUR Brett Stevens burnout cars.

In addition to the tyre-frying fun, guests on the day were also shown some insight into professional Drag Racing action, from within overwhelming Jack Daniels Racing stable.

Steve Packman's immaculate Falcon Top Doorslammer was awarded best engineered vehicle at the ACDelco East Coast Nationals and was set to produce a career-best Elapsed Time during the corporate day, before a blocked nozzle and subsequent problems causing a blown-off burst panel short circuited what appeared in the early incrementals good for a 6.20-odd pass.

Troy Maclean showcased the awe and brutality of what a Nitro Harley Davidson Top Bike is like, producing some nice 6-second bursts down the WSID quarter mile.

However it was the testing performance of Brett Stevens and the Kitten Car Care products Funny Car that really turned heads during the corporate day, running a super 5.63 second pass at over 256mph!

"Obviously the track was real good and was very happy to get a run on the board like that. Hopefully when we get racing next, we can keep those sort of numbers happening on the track."

As the season moves on to the Nationals at Willowbank in less than two weeks, the racing competition continues to intensify - particularly if the Brett Stevens Racing corporate day was any gauge!

The next major event at Western Sydney International Dragway is the return of State versus State, mate versus mate at the State of Origin Supercharged Outlaws on Saturday, October 14!

More details soon.
