KENT, Wash. – Eddie Guarnaccia shook his head Saturday as he watched the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks GXP crew swap motors following Greg Stanfield’s final qualifying run for Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.
“We aren’t happy with the way our motors are working,” said the team’s crew chief. “We haven’t found the right combination. We thought we would try some different parts, but we had issues with some of them. It’s just finding the right pieces for the big puzzle.”
Stanfield’s quickest quarter-mile run of 6.567 seconds at 209.43 mph placed him 11th in the starting lineup.
“We’ll be looking for a combination that we can take advantage of for the first round,” added Guarnaccia. Stanfield races Rodger Brogdon (No. 6, 6.545 at 210.67 mph.
