Dear Pro Racer: In advance of the 2007 season, Rockingham Dragway will host two days of free testing for IHRA Pro Racers on Thursday, February 22, and Friday, February 23. In return, we ask only that you stay over on Saturday, February 24 to participate in our 3rd Annual Spring Pro Shootout.
The format for the Spring Pro Shootout will be qualifying runs at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with the quickest car in each session running off at 4 p.m. for the Spring Pro Shootout championship. We will pay $3,000 to the winner, $1,000 to the runner-up in Pro Stock and in Pro Mod. If the same car is quickest in each session, the second quickest car overall (both sessions) will run for the money. The track will be available for additional time runs on Saturday at no charge.
Other Pro Classes are welcomed to take advantage of the free test days, all we require is that you make two exhibition runs during Saturday’s show.
As you know, more IHRA national record were set last year at Rockingham Dragway than at any other track in the IHRA eMax Series. In fact, the quickest Top Fuel, Pro Stock, Pro Modified and Funny Car fields in IHRA history all were qualified at The Rock and we will prep the track to national event standards for all three days.
As a convenience to you, lunch will be made available on Thursday and Friday for a nominal fee of $10 per plate. To pre-enter this inaugural event, please call us at 910-582-3400.
