Spiering and Salemi team up for ROCK Tour
Rock Star Duo to join Hannah Montana tour

JORDAN STATION, ONTARIO (April 1, 2008) – Canada’s Top Pro Modified Drag Racer, Carl Spiering, and headlining North American Rock n’ Roller Jon Salemi are forming a new team.

No, it’s not to assault the quarter- mile in a red-hot new Pro Modified, but on stage in a brand new ground- breaking music and touring venture that includes a multi-million dollar recording contract, a North American Tour joining a top teen star, with plans for a World Tour that will revive one of the World’s top Progressive Rock acts.

Spiering, known in the music community as “Big Dog” will trade in his racing gloves and helmet, and pick up his tenor saxophone to take the stage along side “shredder” lead guitarist Jon Salemi to form a new rock band, “Big Drag”.

“Most people know I’ve always been a big fan of soft-rock, but Jon (Salemi) convinced me to move over to the other, harder side,” explained Spiering. “I’ve played the sax since I was a kid and Jon convinced me it could be just what the music world needed.”

“This new adventure will be tough to balance with my drag racing commitments, but I’m certain my loyal sponsors understand this is something I need to do,” Spiering continued. “I have a brand new reed on the sax and I’m ready to wail with ‘Big Drag!’ Jon and I will test the waters with Hannah Montana, and if the new CD’s sell well, we have an absolutely huge World Tour in the works with Genesis!”. “Phil, Tony and Mike have always had trouble getting Peter Gabriel to agree to a full-blown Genesis reunion, but with me handling the sax on their horn tunes and Jon doing Steve Hackett’s guitar parts on classics like “Watcher of the Skies”, he said it was simply too tempting to turn down!” If Jon and I are there, Peter’s in!” Carl added.

Carl, Jon and “Big Drag” will join Hannah Montana’s “Best of Both Worlds” Tour starting in Waco, Texas tonight (April 1st ) and the Long Horn Center for the Performing Arts. The show is a sell out. Other stops include Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

“Miley Cyrus can’t wait for us to join her,” stated Jon Salemi. “Her dad (Billy Rae Cyrus) and I have been friends for years. We came up with the idea when I visited him on the set of Dancing with the Stars. His hit “Achy Breaky Heart" has always been one of my favorites. Billy also introduced me to Marie Osmond whom I’ve always loved. That was killer, except when she fainted,” Jon admitted.

“I’m committed to this project and Jon and I have started to grow our hair mullet style in honor of Miley’s dad Billy Rae,” stated Spiering. The ‘business in the front-party in the back’ hairstyle is awesome. There's nothing quite as bad as a bad haircut.”

“I have no doubt Carl, Jon and “Big Drag” will be a sensation on the Montana Tour. I’ve also heard the demos of their new material and it’s simply sensational!” gushed Raceline Radio Network anchor Erik Tomas. “When these releases go over the top for Atlantic, I cannot wait for the boys to finally hit the stage on the world tour with Genesis. It took Spiering and Salemi to convince Gabriel to reunite the band. Fabulous! I think their treatment of Genesis classics like “Supper’s Ready and “Invisible Touch” will be the new buzz in the industry!” Tomas added.
