Bob,
I can't thank you enough for your help, and advice in St. Louis, you are the reason I always wanted to drive a pro stock car. Ever since I was a little kid, you were always so nice, and always would take the time to say hi, or just wave. It's taken me 25 years of drag racing, going up through the ranks to finally live my dream, even if only for a short time, it's been so worth it. To have you come up to me in St. Louis was a dream come true, to which words cannot describe. After getting over the shock factor, I am still in awe of you and your accomplishments. To come over to give a helping hand to a rookie pro stock driver, and to give driving tips was beyond comprehension for me. You were, and will always be my hero !!! Thanks for making my dream complete!!

When I was a teenager, my Dad used to "drag" me to the SEMA show and when I saw Bob's Motorcraft T-bird, (the white one with the front to rear blue fade) I was hooked! I must have sat there for 6 or 7 hours drooling and thinking how cool that guy is/was and eventually got the nerve to ask for an autograph.

Cool story Todd, congrats on livin' the dream and good luck!

I'm right there with you guys. Bob has always been a hero of mine. My first car was a 78 Fairmont with a decent motor did alot of work to that car to make it racey. Bob's Fairmont is still my favorite race car.

Hey Todd were you driving Steve Schmit's car?? I was out there shooting video

Jimmie,

I was driving the red GTO, with Steve Schmidts name on the doors. Without Steve, and Wally Stroupe, my dream would have never become a reality..

What a great story Todd. I too still have that dream in mind as I make my way up through the ranks. I remember being at Fremont in 1983 and helping Bob push the EXP through the pits back to his spot because they were not allowed a tow vehicle. Bob gave me a soda when we got there, I was 8 years old and he was my hero then and is now.

Hello Todd! Pop says anytime, and no thanks is actually needed, he was just trying to help out in any way possible. Just as he was helping us on our adventures, and you are correct. If not for Steve we would not have been there either, we did not do the job well enough to get in the show, but still learned some valuable info for the future. Congratulations on your running the prostocker. You did a commendable job, especially for never being in one of those things before, BG

great job by todd and bill. it is my dream to one day go to roy hills and drive a pro stocker. qualify or not, these days it seems so hard in pro stock. for you guys working your butts of f, and trying to qualify , you both deserve tons of respect! 2 thumbs up! good luck on your futures in pro stock!

Very cool Todd! That must feel like having the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen all singing Happy Birthday to you. :D

It is sure nice to see a "local" guy out there in the big leagues, does that mean we won't see you at Mission running Top Comp any more?

Tom,
I will still be in Mission running top sportsman, I love racing, any class, this was a life long dream, and i'm on a mission to find some sponsors for next year, so I can hopefully race a few more of those pro stock races!

Todd
