[coverattach=1]Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team were in Bowling Green, Kentucky last weekend and for the 3rd time in the last 5 years the Team celebrated in the Winner’s Circle. The Powersource Transportation sponsored Mustang made its way thru a tough field of competitors to earn the win light and take the lead in the Division 3 Lucas Oil points series.
“It was a great weekend, not only did we end up in the winner’s circle, but we left Bowling Green with the car in one piece ready to head to Indy next weekend. We have been close a few other times this year, but we were finally able to put it all together. It felt great to hoist that Wally in the Winner’s Circle at the end of the day,” said Snyder.
After qualifying #4 for the event with a 5.69 at 256 mph, Snyder ran 5.63 in first round to earn the round win and lane choice in the semi-finals. To earn his way into the final for the 4th time in 5 years, Snyder left first and never looked back covering the quarter-mile in 5.64 seconds. In the final round, the Team got a bye run and picked up their first win of the season.
“It went out and moved around a little so I just shut it off, there was no reason to hurt anything. We were a little short handed this weekend and the crew really pulled together and everything went very smoothly. That is the great thing about this Team we have all been together long enough everyone is able to help out when people are missing. We are going to go home and get Sally ready for Indy, hopefully, we will be standing in the Winner’s Circle at the end of the day Monday too.”
The next event for the Team is the US Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana, September 2nd thru the 7th. For up to date coverage of the event please log onto Drag Race Central | Presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030.
