Snyder Looks to Close Out Season with a Win (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team will make it four in a row when they roll into Zmax Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Carolina Nationals this weekend. The Team started the swing off with a win in Bowling Green and despite a very strong running Powersource Transportation Funny Car in Indy and Earlville, they have been unable to make it back to the Winner’s Circle. This weekend they are hoping to finish the job.

“It has just been one of those years for us. Our car is running so well but we can’t seem to make it all come together. We’ve been doing this for a long time though and understand drag racing is like that, sometimes you just need a little luck, there are so many ways to lose and only one way to win,” said Snyder.

In Earlville, last weekend, after getting the hole shot on his opponent in the semi-final, Snyder was way ahead at half track before something in the motor let go and the Team’s weekend ended too early. But, with the last two races behind them the Team has a positive outlook heading into their final event of the season.

“We are really excited about this event. It will be the last of our season and the facility is just amazing. The car is responding better than it probably ever has, I feel like we should have a really good shot at celebrating in the Winner’s Circle at the end of the weekend. Last year we ended our season with a win in Pomona and got to think about it for a few months, it would be great to be able to do the same thing this year.”

Qualifying for the event begins on Friday with 2 sessions held at 1 and 4:30 PM. On Saturday the alcohol cars will get their final qualifying shot at 1:30 and first round of eliminations later that evening at 5:15.
