Snyder Earns Second Win of the Season
Extends His Lead in the Division 3 Championship Chase

As champions were being crowned down in Bristol, Tennessee for the Jr. Dragster Nationals, former Jr. racer and Marketing Director for Snyder Motorsports (the family-owned business specializing in Jr. dragster parts and Lencodrives), Mick Snyder was standing in the Winner's Circle in Joliet, Illinois at the Lucas Oil Divisional Series Event. The Snyder Motorsports / Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car Team earned their second win of the season and made their 3rd straight appearance to the final round on the divisional level.

The back-to-back defending Division 3 championship Team qualified number 3 by running a 5.73 down the very hot and slippery quarter-mile track. Early Sunday afternoon, during the first round of eliminations Snyder took the win light with a 5.81 at 250 mph. In the semi-finals, Snyder left on his opponent and was able to cover the quarter mile in 5.82 seconds at 252 mph to take the win light. The final round, the 25 year-old driver cut a great .009 light and never looked back as he drove away from his opponent stopping the clocks at 5.79 at 252 mph.

"This was a great win for us. This track is usually either really good to us or really bad to us. We have been to the finals here 4 times over the past 3 years [earning 2 wins] but we also had a tire come off one year and I hit the wall here just last month. I am really excited to be standing here in the winner's circle with my family and friends," Snyder commented.

"This was the first race that my Aunt Tami [dad's sister] has seen us win. It was really great to see the two of them together in the winner's circle. We have so many tough competitors out here that we need to pick up as many points as possible when we have the chance. Today was our day. Hopefully we will be able to repeat the performance in St. Louis in a couple of weeks."

For their next event, the Snyder Motorsports Race Team sponsored by Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels will head to St. Louis. The event, held on August 4 - 6, will be the fourth Lucas Oil Divisional Series event for the Team.
