Snyder Continues Championship Chase

After a few weeks off, the Snyder Motorsports Race Team will head to Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the final event of the Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. The back-to-back defending champions are hoping to pick up another win here and lengthen their points lead over the rest of the Top Alcohol Funny Car field.

"This is a really big race for us. If we can get another win, that will put us one step closer to the divisional championship. There are so many good cars out here that you have to be on top of your game every time you get up to the line. After all, this is drag racing and we all know one mistake can mean the race is over," said the 25 year-old driver, Mick Snyder.

After the U.S. Nationals Larry and Mick took a much deserved break to tear down the motor and go through everything part by part. Now, with all the pieces put back together, they are ready to get back out on the track. Currently sitting in 4th place in the National standings, the Team could move up a spot with a good showing here this weekend. The Team is also hoping to wrap-up the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship this weekend. Coming into the final race of the series, they are currently sitting at the top of the leader board, just 1 point ahead of the second place competitor.

"We are just going to go out there and do the best we can. That is all we can ever do. We are down to our last couple of races for the season and it would be great to get another couple wins for our great sponsors. Evan and the rest of the Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels family have been so supportive of our operation and we would love to be able to put this car in the winner's circle for them."

Event qualifying begins on Friday at 5 PM. The Team will have 2 more shots on Saturday at 1 PM and 5 PM. Eliminations begin at 1 PM on Sunday following the opening ceremonies. Please log on to dragracecentral.com to keep up with the Team's progress throughout the weekend.
