We were going to go out to the Tulip Festival drag races and shake down our car but it snowed, rained and hailed so we pulled the plug. To bad to as they had jets and nostalgia alcohol cars on tap. They are going to try tomarrow but we'll sit this one out. The track temperature was only 30 degree according to "Gene's Waterbox" column.

I've been looking forward to opening night of the sprint car season at Skagit Speedway but it too was postponed until next week because of snow.

Smart move - you don't need to test your HANS device again!

Jim and Rich, I don't think anyone will be getting down the track this weekend as more snow and rain is on its way for Sunday.

What kind of cruel BS weather is this? Last weekend it was sunny and 70's, 2 days later, and ever since, it's been cold as hell.

Rich, my dad sent a pic to my on my cell of the snow up in WA. It wasn't a lot. But, obviously too much for racing.
Here in Chicago we had 70's 2 days this week, then a little rain yesterday for the kid's soccer game.

I remember one year we got snowed out at a divisional race in Amarillo on Saturday which made them call the whole weekend. So we decided we would see if we could make it back in time for the Saturday nite program at our local track (old Dickinson dragway south of Houston) We made a 12 hour trip in 10 hours, unloaded, got teched, in the staging lanes waiting for our first pass, and the bottom fell out of the sky. They ended up calling that race too. Track manager started offering me 50 bucks a week not to come to his track.

It snowed here about an inch this morning. For a while it snowed pretty hard. According to "Gene's Waterbox" the race has been canceled. Go find something else to do.

After my crash in Seattle last year, I'm more particular when it comes to racing in the cold weather. It was unseasonably cold that morning and it had been raining over night. We were using tires from the previous season as well. All contributing factors...I think. I just had a new set of Hoosiers mounted and the motor sounds better than ever so all we need to do now is wait for a good day.

Yeah, climate change they couldn't call it global warming any more. People need to wake up and get a clue.

I didn't even bother loading the car up. After checking the weather last mid week, I pulled the plug on the whole weekend and got out of mowing the lawn again. My wifes' tulips haven't even bloomed yet up here.

William, is that your digger in the avatar? Are you going to make it to Woodburn for the Oldies but Goodies in June?

Yeah, that's it and it was taken at Bakersfield awhile back. It's a 65 something or other and runs a 350 sb with old Enderles on it. Woodburn is pretty much my home track as they are the closest for running nostalgia events. We have't even been out of the shop yet due to the weather up here, but I'll be at the Oldies deal even if it's a test and tune weekend for us. I live close to SIR but they don't do any oldies events except for the GG's car show in Puyallup and they only cater to door cars except for some exhibition stuff.

William, we will have to talk before Woodburn. I will be flying out for family vacation. We will be heading down to Woodburn for the weekend.
SIR/Pacific Raceways used to have something on Labor Day. I don't know if they still do.
