Sure would be great for the class, not sure if dodge would want him driving a camaro tho?? Maybe get mopar into ps?? One good thing about smoke going to ps maybe we will get full coverage again of pro stock elims?? Or maybe not, prob just smokes run then call it a day lol
Tony Stewart has been behind the wheel of almost everything - from open-wheel cars to stock cars, from dirt ovals to Daytona. But even with championships and a NASCAR Hall of Fame plaque to his name, Stewart still chases the rush of learning something new. That pursuit led him to a Pro Stock car for

Could definitely see this happening, but Jeremy brings up a good point about Camaro not being a good fit.
Wouldn’t it be something if TS brought Dodge back into the class, maybe based on the new Charger, which I expect will also be Dodge’s future F/C body?

Bringing a new manufacture to pro stock would not be a overnight thing. The alternative Tony could have would be a Mopar body with the GM engine. Tony has run GM in his Sprint car operation. He could have a MOPAR built this year and use the rest of the year testing to be ready for next year when Leah gets back into the dragster. Just thinkin.....
I don't follow PS, but I am pretty sure someone tried to run a Hemi in the last few years. The platform is still out there, but the rpm limit, and I'm sure a few other things, take away the advantages of running a hemi style cylinder head. AR would be able to explain that better, as he was in the world at one point, as well as knowing the class history from announcing.

The ugly elephant in this potential Pro Stock room is there's no way in the world a new Charger body, a huge piece at 206 inches long and 7 inches wider than a Camaro, would be competitive in Pro Stock and I don't believe the Challenger is aero enough either. I've never seen one competing in Pro Stock since the 70s. Guess he could run an Avenger but that's pretty old school and ugly as hell to boot.
Tony would either need Dodge's blessing to run a Camaro or a Mustang or else run a different class, like FSS or AFX, where Challengers are competitive. An AFX car would be a similar experience for him.
Two-time Pro Stock champion Erica Enders' striking new '16 Dodge Dart was unveiled Wednesday, a month before she begins her pursuit of a third consecutive NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series title. Like her championship-winning cars from 2014 and 2015, Enders' car was built by RJ Race Cars in...
