KING, NC (October 24, 2011) – Rickie Smith and his Industrial Distribution Group (IDG) Nitrous Injected Pro Modified Chevrolet Camaro headed to Rockingham Dragway for a match race against Doug Winters at the Super Chevy Show this past weekend.
Running a 3.97 elapse time twice during the event, Smith and his IDG Camaro dominated the race. Smith proved he is poised and ready for the Pro Modified season finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.
Sitting sixth in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge point standings; Smith is looking to move up a few spots before the year ends.
“We had a great time at Rockingham this past weekend,” said Rickie Smith.
“Doug and his guys were great. That was the first time I have ever been to the Super Chevy Show and it was a lot of fun. We ran well and hope to carry that momentum to Vegas.”
“I am really excited about Vegas,” said Smith. “This season has flown by and hopefully we can put up a good run here at the end. We have ran pretty strong throughout the year and we want to end it on a good note.”
The Pro Modified cars will get things kicked off this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada at 11:45 am on Friday, October 28.
