WOW!!! I'm not sure if that is the quickest ET on alky but the speed.... 279!!! That IS the fastest ever. Boy that car is on a roll. Noticed that the A/FD in the other lane was taking his time staging. Mission is a great track & a lot of quick times have been run there in the alky classes. Wish I was there!

Looking at Q results from Mission. Only 4 cars in T/AD, but: 1. Cowie 5.180 - 279.06. 2. Kim Parker 5.190 274,80 3. Joey Severance 5.198 272.31 4. John Leach 6.167 220.37. Wow, 5.19 & Severance is only #3. Pretty stout! F/C has 5 cars, with Brian Hough #1 at 5.536 268.09 & #5 is Annie Whitley at 8.22 ET. Hough has everyone covered by a bunch, but lets see what happens in elims.

Cowie won T/AD at Mission. Ran 5.205 278.37 rd 1 and in final ran 5.196 279.06 to beat Kim Parker's 5.229 277. Both had .08 reaction times. Annie Whiteley had best times in TA/FC at 5.497 273.30, but lost to Chris Marshall in rd 1 on a hole shot (Marshall 5.50 263). Marshall won TA/FC 5.67 254 as Brian Hough broke. Small field, killer times!

About 5 years since Whiteley ran that 5.17. Monster run, even if Pomona is downhill. Others are just catching him now. So....who will be the first alky T/AD to run 280? Severance? Cowie? Can hardly wait for that one! Also noticing that TA/Fc starting to run high 5.30's and well over 270. See what they do. I well remember Joe Amato & Gary Ormsby in T/F. They were running ET's not too much quicker than Cowie.

I'm pretty sure I saw Demke run 277 at Reading a few years ago, maybe a low .20 or high teen. We need the Stat Guy!

Greg is right and I'll have to double check but I believe that Severance ran 279.15 in Chicago last year.
Alan

You are correct Alan but it was 2nd round of the All Stars so I'm not sure how "official" that run is as far as being marked for low et/top speed of the event runs?

Nunzio - Demke ran 5.21 / 277.94 at the Grove in 2014.

My prediction is the first blown 280 will happen in Maple Grove this year.

Imagine if NHRA never adopted that Stupid OD rule for the FC's????
