Sorry but compared to The Gorge, it's a hole in the Native-American owned ground! I was soooo happy that Rush went back to The Gorge for this years leg of the tour!!!:):):)

We return you back to your scheduled program! :D

Oooh, them's fightin' words! I hate the Gorge. I went there once and was horribly disappointed. Never again. Though no venue is as horrible for a show as Key Arena. Blech. Took hubby to see Matchbox Twenty there in March. Blech. I wish Dave Matthews Band would do a show at White River instead of the Gorge. I'd see them again. Maybe.

Um, what we were talking about? Oh, yeah, the race. So, Saturday, all by myself. I kind of like roving around unencumbered. Makes it easier to stay on my eating schedule anyway. Weather is looking decent relative to the past two years. It's 66 and cloudy out here in Maple Valley, a few miles from the track.
Sunday I may have a gaggle. My best friend since sixth grade, Mike, my brother in law, Dave (second year going), a co-worker of his and then Mike's mom, Sherry is in town from Arkansas and wants to go, too. Heh. That should be cool.

Man I can not wait. Just 24 1/2 hours till the pro stock cars fire it up for the first round of qualifying. Yay!

Personally, I've always liked the Gorge. But up my way there's also an amphitheater at the Tulalip casino in Marysville. Haven't been to it it yet, but I'm thinking seriously of going to the Buddy Guy/George Thorogood show next week.

Well, sorry to say I won't be around this year. Kinda bummed because the weather will be awesome. We've gotta finish getting ready for GoodGuys which is next weekend, and I'm not really feeling like hauling my 20lb 4 month old around the track all day. Everybody have fun, and hopefully will see everyone next year!!

That stinks! :(:(
As a non-participant, the scheduling is great: NHRA one weekend then GoodGuys the next. Love the Friday night races!
Good luck in Puyallup!!!:):)

Sorry Kris; my bad!!! :o
Personally, the view & atmosphere at The Gorge out-way the few negatives. In fact, this year, parking & in/out of the venue was the best it's ever been!!!

10-4 on Key Arena!!!

Rich: if ya do go to the show in Marysville, please let me know what ya think. :)

Darrell: I really hope you drive something that gets great fuel economy!!!

Thanks Wayne! It's really ok...It's been awkward for me to get around at SIR (what it'll always be to me) after nearly 20 years of bumming around Firebird. Not that Fireturd is a great track, just what I know.

On a happier note, I'm really excited watching the weather report for GoodGuys...still low to mid-70's :D. This is our third year entering our 1966 Chevy Impala...paint and interior restored to what it came with from the factory. Oh yeah, except for the 540cid motor under the hood.

Rich: are ya up here for all 3 days & do ya have the car with ya?

:):)

Reminds me of my '65 Impala I drive in HS! But mine only had a 327.....lol

No we're doing the night of fire benefit car show tonight as it was the only time I could get the jet car. And won't be racing in Seattle since they don't race Top Dragster at national events. I will be there sometime on Saturday.

Joe, this one came with a 327...it's in our garage still in fact. We're looking for another project car (Momma needs a set of old wheels ;) ) to put the 327 into. This thing scares me too much to drive it. Guess I wouldn't have made a very good funny car driver  .

I get off the cruise ship in Downtown Seattle at 9am Sunday ... anyone come pick me up for the races and then take me to SEATAC afterwards I will go!!!!

:)
