SCAG Adds Second Top Fuel Team For the 2026 Top Fuel Season (3 Viewers)

metalcraft of mayville continues to invest in nhra nitro drag racing. now four teams strong for the full tour 👏

I guess I didn't pay attention too closely to the parent company of SKAG as it is under the corporate umbrella of Metalcraft of Mayville and when you stated the above, I went HUH? So glad SKAG is sticking around and continuing to sponsor teams, and now adding a 4th team! We need sponsors like this.

....... We need sponsors like this.
pretty sure the owners love the sport, but it's nice to see a company using drag racing to promote it's products. it's not just the fans in the pits
who see the scag display/s, or the tv/streaming audience; the entire sport: fans, officials, racers, other sponsors, are all aware of them. it's a product line that appeals to everyone.

But Scag only does 22 million a year..............can they really afford to sponsor 4 teams...................biting off more than they can chew..................they will be broke shortly.......................cant wait to see them fail....................oh wait that's the IHRA, Darryl Cuttler

sarcasm disclaimer.

Owners, drivers and sponsors come and they go, for a multitude of reasons.

Well, not sure what the Scag division sales are, but it's part of a much larger company with revenue probably 10x that number for one thing. And Cuttell is biting off WAY WAY WAY more of a commitment than a handful of fuel teams. And probably most important, as noted teams and owners come and go- I wouldn't expect to see the same level of commitment from Scag/MCM 10 years from now, and it's not unlikely that they will be gone from the sport altogether. That's par for the course for race teams, but sanctioning bodies and tracks need long term stability and sustainable business plans.

Happy for Will Smith, that’s awesome for him. 👍

If you've been paying attention.

It's good to see some can still find their way by paying there dues. The man has drove about everything in drag racing.
If he's drove about everything in drag racing, he's sure been under the radar. I "pay attention" to the Big Show pretty closely, and I've only seen this guy mentioned a few times on this site. I would say he is far from a known quantity among most fans. At any rate, I'm glad he has a ride and we'll see how he does this season in a fuel car.

While it is always good news to have another fuel car on the tour, there's nothing exciting to me about the driver announcement. Am I supposed to know who this Will Smith is?
He won Alky dragster in IHRA in 25. Drove Luigi Novellis TF car at first IHRA race.

I guess if he had a famous last name and was so pretty that if the drag racing thing didn't work out, he could be a lingerie model, you would know more about him.

I think this pickup in in line with what they have done in FC. The Bluebird FC was not exactly a well-known regular when they picked him up.
