This Sunday, May 24th San Antonio Raceway is having another Clean up Day! 10 am to 6 pm. Come support your track South Texas. We are getting close to going racing. Schedule will be out real soon.

After months of uncertainty, the beleaguered San Antonio Raceway has been given a new lease on life. Despite filing for bankruptcy in February 2015, the iconic track, known for its high-energy street and drag racing events, has been reborn under the guidance of new owner, Iain Grae.

Grae, who also owns and operates Cycle Ranch Events Center in Floresville, saw the infinite potential of the defunct track and made an investment to reopen its doors, with an eye on its long-term viability.

"San Antonio is a major city and deserves a high-caliber raceway," said Grae. "If its doors remained closed, it would have left our market without another track within 100 miles, leaving fans of this sport empty handed. I didn't want that to happen."

Grae and his team plan on extensive renovations to the track, seating, and concession areas. In addition, a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign was launched to assist in the rebuilding efforts. To date, it has already eclipsed its goal of raising $30,000, reeling in over $33,000 in just 27 days.

"It's really exciting to see the community rally behind San Antonio Raceway," said Grae. "We intend to fully restore the facility and give San Antonio the high-quality track it needs and wants."

General admission pricing for the Raceway is $12 for adults, ($12 buy one get one free for ladies and military service members), and kids under 12-years-old are free.

Upcoming events at San Antonio Raceway include the soft opening test & tune races on June 12-13 and 19-20. The grand opening will commence the weekend of June 26-27 with a test & tune on Friday and the IHRA Summit on Saturday with a variety of festivities and vendors. Independence Day weekend will include test & tunes, motorcycle races and more. Visit the San Antonio Raceway Facebook page at www.fb.com/sanantonioraceway for more upcoming events.

Local racers must be confident the track will open again soon. We have been selling and shipping parts to San Antonio area racers.

Good to see S.A.R. in capable hands. That logo is a doozy- great for print and online, but that is not going to translate well to merchandise. Too many colors and thin keylines means that it'll be a pain to screen print and/or embroider.
