If she had a back up bike, she would have been allowed to run it. but as has been stated there are no alternates inserted in the Full Throttle Series.

Smith used to run his TF dragster at selected events and he would essentially make one run, qualify and "sell" his spot to any non-qualifier for the right price.
He wasn't the only one who did it, but he did it the most frequently, so NHRA figured it wasn't right, so they banned alternates. (probably because they didn't get anything from it :D)

I would MUCH rather see two cars on the line in first round, so that sums up my thought on the "rule".

Someone can probably answer this question; wouldn't alternates only gain money and not points?

Bingo.... I remember one year in the mid 90's TJ didn't qualify in TF and he bought his way into the show.
