Roy Johnson is Amazing

Could not be any more in awe of what Roy Johnson has accomplished these last couple months. The Brainerd qualifying effort was a real jaw dropper. The grinding of bow tie teeth as they handed over the trophy to Allan in Indy would be something to behold, could happen.

Roy is proving why he is the HEMI God..........
When I spoke with him at Norwalk, the big issue was MOPAR is not making anymore parts when they are gone, they are gone..........
MOPAR is supporting nitro now
If the Johnsons leave PS, PS is dead to me

You couldn't be more right, Ken If their situation with parts availability with MOPAR doesn't illustrate clearly enough to NHRA that major, and I mean MAJOR changes need to be made to the class, then Pro Stock WILL be dead, not only to you, but to everybody because it won't be here. It sickens me to see what's happening to that class.......

Didn't know MOPAR(or any manufactor) made any parts for a pro stock motor. Always rooting for the Johnson's to win in pro stock.

I like to follow new car news and one thing coming up is that Great Wall, a Chinese car mfgr, wants to buy Jeep. The reason is that Jeep technology would bring Great Wall up to modern standards with technology. The articles also hint that Great Wall would like to be a partner with Fiat-Chrysler (or maybe even buy it). So, where would that leave Chrysler performance? I know they are not sponsoring Alan anymore, but do have some support for nitro cars. So....wild thought, Great Wall Jeep funny car sponsored by Great Wall / Mopar.

I think it is a real shame that Dodge won't even built blocks and heads. That's really all the racers need except perhaps a cylinder head redesign! The Hemi is not really a Hemi in the traditional sense. It is more like the GM engine with the valves splayed farther apart and the plug goes down the center of the chamber. A traditional hem engine cannot achieve the extremely high compression ratios that Pro Stock engines use. Also the Pro Stock hemi does not have that long exhaust rocker arm that would cause even more valve spring attrition. I don't know how their head could be made to work better. I'll be Warren Johnson could design one that would. (or Greg or Jason, maybe so others) But the GM head does work better than any other. That's why the Ford Pro Stocks used to copy it. The current Pro Stock Ford is much like the Dodge engine. But Ford won't support Pro Stock either. What a damn shame! It would be so great to see Dodge Chevrolet and Ford represented in Pro Stock. Chris McGaha also builds Dodge engines. I have talked to him a lot as to the problems of the distribution of air with the new fuel injection. The intake manifold is the big secret naturally and Jason and Greg figured it out first. Now Gray sure has and Elite pretty much has too. Elite's problems seem to be car setup. They have the power for sure. I know Chris McGaha told me that number 8 cylinder was a problem. The minute I saw pictures of the fuel injection before it was in use I knew that it worked on street cars okay but I could see that they would have a problem with the extreme demands in Pro Stock. I just hope the class survives. I'm not a fan as much as a retired racer that has loved drag racing and raced off and on for 56 years. I really appreciate the technology in Pro Stock and would sure like to see more participation but the costs vs. return is not as good as it should be.
