Roush Yates Performance Products Offering Contingency To ADRL Summit Racing Top Sportsman Competitors

O’FALLON, MO (October 9, 2011) – The Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman class in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) continues to gain support from contingency sponsors.

The world’s premier eighth-mile drag league is pleased to announce that Roush Yates Performance Products signed on as a contingency sponsor in Summit Racing Top Sportsman for the final two events of the 2011 season.

The partnership between Roush Yates and the ADRL started at last month’s Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V and continues at the upcoming LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII presented by Summit Racing Equipment.

With the contingency posting, Roush Yates will award the winner and runner-up of any Summit Racing TS competitor who uses a popular Roush Yates engine.

“Top Sportsman competition in the ADRL is definitely an element of drag racing that doesn’t go unnoticed,” Roush Yates Vice President of Marketing Jon Sands said. “We’re proud to be part of the contingency program for these two events because our engines translate perfectly into these cars.

“This is a class that is really fun to watch and a lot of people come out to see.”

Considered experts in the field of power and performance, the engineers at Roush Yates have consistently delivered Top Sportsman racers some of the most powerful and innovative engines possible.

“We’re very adept about providing power plants for classes like Top Sportsman,” Sands said. “Our Pro Stock engines translate very well into Top Sportsman racing because they are certainly a versatile power plant. They are designed and built by the Roush Yates Performance Engine Group.”

The ADRL officially added the popular class in July and the debut was a rousing success. Since then, the class has continued to deliver tremendous side-by-side racing that has made Top Sportsman racing so popular.

The final stop on the 2011 ADRL Tour – the LenMar Motorsports World Finals VII presented by Summit Racing – takes place on Oct. 21-23 at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.

“We are thrilled to have Roush Yates on board as a contingency sponsor for these final two events of the 2011 season. It is the start of what we hope is a growing partnership,” ADRL Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Brian Evans said.

“It’s also another great indicator of how popular the Summit Racing Top Sportsman class is becoming in the ADRL.”
