Ron Capps Points Going Into Sunday? (1 Viewer)

Just curious, they said Ron Capps locked up the title after qualifying. He was something like 89 point up (may be wrong there) But anyway wouldn't it have been possible, albeit highly unlikely, that if Hagan could have won the race and set the national ET record he could have received 100 points (80 for the win and 20 for the record) But Capps would have had to lose 1st round. Did they stop giving points for the ET record?

At the NAPA pit celebration on Saturday night, it was proudly made known (by several happy sponsors and team members) that he won it cleanly under either system.

Yeah but the difference is, under the no countdown format, he would have gotten his check and trophy in Dallas!
